About

Aspen SIS is a Student Information System (SIS) developed by Follett Software. It's a web-based platform designed to help schools manage and organize all aspects of student data, from enrollment to graduation. Aspen SIS aims to centralize student information, improve communication between schools, students, and families, and streamline administrative tasks.

How Staff Use Aspen

Teachers throughout Nantucket Public Schools utilize Aspen for everything from taking attendance in the morning to ordering lunches and communicating with families. All students are enrolled in courses rostered through Aspen. This is also the place for the official gradebook teachers manage, which feeds directly into student report cards.

How Students Use Aspen

Students in Cyrus Peirce Middle School and Nantucket High School use Aspen in addition to Schoology, our learning management system, to manage grades and course requests. While most of the daily classwork and homework assignments, if online, might take place in Schoology, Aspen is a hub for their standing in courses as well. 

How Parents Use Aspen

Parents and Guardians have access to their children's information through their parent portal acocunts for Aspen. Parents primarily utelize Aspen to acecss the following information:

  • Student attendance history
  • Student medical & nursing visit history
  • Document folder, including all official report cards, IEPs, and IEP progress reports

Aspen can be updated by parents as needed through the Family Connection, which allows changes such as address and contact updates, changes to medical history, and the approval of annual forms.
